Allens Martial Arts Logo2Allen’s Martial Arts is sponsoring the comBATON station of the Gauntlet on September 5th at Lyman High School.  Masters Ginger and Paul Allen are looking forward to seeing all of their martial arts friends there.  Remember to register in advance to help us with staging. The only cost to register is a donation of food for Second Harvest Food Bank or a $5.00 donation which will also go to them.

Paul and Ginger have been great at supporting the endeavor. Ginger, owner of a public relations firm, has met with Sasha Hausman of Second Harvest and worked on publicity and public relations. Paul, a talented graphic artist, created the logo, publicity flyers, tee shirts and flyers for the events. We appreciate the generous donation of their time, talents and resources and are happy to say that they are sponsors in kind.

comBATON official Paul Allen, also of G A & Associates, designed a masthead for “Martial Artists Fighting Hunger” as a contribution toward the effort. Once again, Paul’s design talent shines through. His use of color and image conveys the message without visual clutter. This minimalistic approach is a signature of his design work. Paul is known for his logo designs, brochures, and advertising art. Anyone interested in having Paul do design work may contact him through comBATON. We’ll make sure he gets the message.

In other developments, David Turnbull and Steve Blanton have continued to refine the gauntlet concept. Steve has been busy working on acquiring a venue and doing lots of ground-work to make this event happen. We now have over 120 members on our FaceBook “fan” page and and have an active MySpace page as well.

Please pass the word along to your friends. It appears that the first event will be held on September 5, 2009 but no papers have been signed yet as the details are worked out. We’re going to make this happen!
